Katrina

Broken branches that are beyond repair are sticking out of the brownish-red water, for the entire world to see. Foreign objects are floating in the infested sea, soon to become the alligator’s prey. Screams of tear fill the dark night air, as the water rises higher and higher.
All worldly possessions are being destroyed as we climb in fear. No way out, but up up we must go, hand over hand, clawing at the roof to make a hole. Desperately pushing our little ones through, then clinging together as the raging winds blew.
Night turns to day as the raging storm passes through, leaving destruction wherever it went. An unearthly stench fills the air, making it hard to breath. Distant sounds of babies bawling, lost pet frantically howling, and stomachs growling all making it hard to think.
Has doom’s day come?
Is this to be our end?
Desperately we repent and pray, leaving our destiny in the hands of our Creator. Anxiously we wait, building our faith and hope. Minutes turn into hours and hours turn into days. Just as our bodies became fragile and weakness set in, we hear a helicopter heading our way.
We get moved from place to place. Shelter was given in standing rooms only. We were rescued to be forgotten, still no bodily needs were met. How long can we live with no food or drink? Our eyes are dull from the shameful sights we have seen.
We have been struck down but not destroyed. Where does strength come from but the
L-rd. G-d has taken our fear and given us a sound mind. Not all is lost, though we are back to the basic. Starting over fresh and clean as the L-rd leads the way we are to go.
Why did this happen, we may never know, but we knew He is in control!
What may have been meant for bad, He can turn to good. See our brother and sisters extending helping hands as we become unifies into His perfect plan.
