Illnesses using herbs as medicines applications:

Backache: tinctures of cayenne & peppermint applied on area of sourness and massaged into the skin will give great relief in most areas.
Blood builder: burdock, lobelia, mullein, nettle, red beet, strawberry, yellow dock.

1 slice of lemon,
1 pt. of water.
Put all in water and bring to a boil; simmer 15 min., then strain.
Drink a cupful of this hot, every 2 hours. Sweeten with honey.
Footbath help: 1 Tbsp. mustard powder in 4 pt. of hot water.
Bath feet 10 minutes 2 times daily while covering the top of your head.
Colic: The seeds of carrots grounded to powder and taken as a tea.
Colon Gas: ginseng, horseradish.
Congestion: alternates hot and cold applications 30 minutes, fomentations given as hot as can be tolerable, with a cold sponging and drying between each.
Constipation: 8 glasses water daily,
Blend with papaya leaves, buckthorn bark, licorice root, alfalfa, fennel seed, anise seed, blue melba flower, culver root, jalap root and rhubarb root.
Cough: 1/4 tsp. of each cayenne & ginger,
1 Tbsp. of each honey & vinegar,
2 Tbsp. of hot water to be mix together and taken by spoon.
Mix the juice from 1/2 lemon with 2 Tbsp. honey every 15 minutes.
Licorice tea or lobelia extract can be used.
Medicine taking a large onion and slice into rings.
Place in a deep bowl,
Cover with honey and let stand overnight.
Add a pinch of thyme; take spoon full 4-5 times a day.
Cramps: before bed drink 1 tsp. cider vinegar & 1 tsp. of honey in 1 cup of hot water.
Eat celery.
Horsetail grass, oats straw, comfrey, lobelia tea.
Gout: safflower, primrose, celery seed.
Dandruff: sage as a tea on the head as well as internally.
Depression: wild oats, St. Johns wart, verdant, borage, lemon balm, mother wart, rosemary, skullcap, ginseng.
Diabetes: cedar berries, licorice root, mullein, cayenne, golden seal root.
Diarrhea: nutmeg 1/2 tsp. several times a day, reel raspberry as an enema.
1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. slippery elm to 8 oz. of water. Take 2-4 hours.
(May substitute for slippery elm.) or Cloves as a warm tea or Kelp with cornstarch.
Digestion: catnip, fennel, ginger, lobefin, papaya, peppermint, spearmint, wild yam, comfrey, cayenne.
Disinfectant and astringent: a tea made of white oak using a heaping tsp. in powder form to 1 cup of boiling water. Steep 30 minutes.
Earache: heat an onion up in the oven, chopping it up and mixing it with water to make a thick paste.
Eczema: cleanses the stomach. Use strawberry leaves as a tea.
Eye: bayberry, cayenne, eyebright, golden seal, red raspberry as a tea.
Tired eyes - place a fresh slice cucumber over eyes for 15 minutes.
Brighten eyes - use a wet tea bag over eyes.
Puffy eyes - use a slice of raw potato on the eyes.

Female Problems: squaw vine, slippery elm bark, yellow dock root, comfrey root, marshmallow root, chick weed, golden seal root, Mullen.
Fevers: 2 cups of lobelia tea.

Sage and chamomile use to rime the hair.
Flee & Ticks for Pets: fennel powder apply generously on them or make a collar stuffed with dry fennel, pennyroyal & thyme leaves.

Gall Bladder Trouble: fast 2 days taking only 2 oz. olive oil and 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
3 times a day.
General Infections: Echinacea, golden seal root, poke root, cayenne.

Gout: safflower and primrose, celery seed tea.
Growths, Infection, and Tumors: Grate a raw red potato and add 1 tsp. of ginger.
It can be used for internal cysts also.
Headache: fenugreek, passion flower, peppermint, thyme, wood betony, wild lettuce, valerian, cayenne.
1 cup of cool tea of ginger.
Heart & Blood Pressure: cayenne, garlic, hawthorn, ginger, ginseng, golden seal, parsley.
A used to strengthen the heart
B used for high blood pressure
C used to equalize the blood pressure.
Heart disease: Ginger and Garlic.
2 peeled gloves of garlic and a tsp. of freshly grated ginger in a blender,
8 to 12 oz. of orange juice
Mix and enjoy once in morning and once in the evening.
Heart tonic: hawthorn berries, cayenne, vitamin E, garlic, ginseng, golden seal, and parsley.
Hemorrhoids: thin slice of raw onion inserted in rectum to reduce inflammation, and relieve the itching.
Hormone Imbalance: slippery elm, mullein, lobelia, fenugreek - gargle as a tea.
Hot Flashes: Don Quall, passionflowers or 1 tsp. sage and motherwort.
Hoarseness: fenugreek tea - gargle; licorice as a tea or gargle.
Hypoglycemia: (low blood); cedar berries, licorice root, mullein, cayenne, golden seal root, dandelion, soybeans, cayenne, red clover.
Liniment for sprains or bruises, sore fresh wound or ulcer: a small tsp. of myrrh,
1 tsp. of golden seal,
1/2 a tsp. of red pepper,
Put in a pint of alcohol,
Allowed to stand for seven days, shaken well every day.
Impotence: Siberian ginseng, Echinacea, sarsaparilla, saw palmetto.
Indigestion: comfrey, pepsin
For vegetarians: comfrey, cayenne.
Intestinal Purifier: garlic enema, garlic oil
Capsules taken orally
Tea made with equal parts - aniseed, caraway, and fennel.
Onion tea enema
Strong thyme tea or enema.
Insect bites and stings: 1 Tbsp. of parsley leaves to 1 cut of boiling water, steep 20 minutes.

Menopause & Hot Flashes: one part of each - 1/2 part of licorice, sarsaparilla, wild yam, false unicorn, holy thistle, squaw vine, blue cohosh, black cohosh & ginseng for menopause.
Don quall & passion flower for hot flashes.
Menstruation Cramps: cayenne, mistletoe, golden seal root, blessed thistle, cramp bark, false unicorn root, raspberry leaves, squaw vine, ginger.
Migraine Headaches: 1 cup of cool tea of ginger.
Miscarriage and Hemorrhage: Mistletoe used with caution for may cause abortion if used in large does. It will help expel retained placenta in childbirth. It is a Mervin and anti-spasmodic.

Mucous: fenugreek and thyme.
Nervousness: black cohosh, cayenne, hops flowers, mistletoe, lobelia herb, skullcap, wood betony, lady’s slipper, valerian root, black walnut, licorice.

The fluid or tea should be carefully poured off so that the fluid which is used will be entirely clear before it is part in the wounded.
Swollen foot: Soak in foot in hot water until thoroughly heated,
Then plunged it into cold for just a second or two.
Imperially back into hot water back and forth one hour.
Then after the hot water and the pores are open put your foot into kerosene.
Hot to kerosene several times.
Repeat for a few more days which cure the soreness.
