The book of Ephesians parallels with Joshua. There were 3 basic purposes for his book:
Fulfillment of G-d’s promises.
What happens when you fail to take what G-d gives you.
Labor to enter into rest and keep it in faith.
Word meanings:
The word Canadian means: Low Landers.
The word Amorite means: High Landers.
The word Prosper means:
Break out medially.
Push forward.
Over not under.
Be good.
Cleave to.
Do it now.
Battle plan for a believer’s walk:
1-6. Enter the land.
6-12. Conquer the land.
13-22. Sign work to be done.
20-24. Keep land.
Gen.- G-d promised the land.
Ex.- leaving for the land.
Lev.- Gave Laws for the land.
Num. -Wonder outside the land.
Josephus says Joshua was 85 years old when he succeeded Moses.
4 Events in the entrance into Canaan:
Circumcised the new generation.
Passover celebrated.
Manna ceased.
Joshua was prepared by G-d’s appearance.
Joshua’s story is part of our past and receives encouragement for the present:
1. The faithfulness of G-d to his oppressed people.
2. The struggle for a place to live (land).
3. A successful movement of the disinherited against oppression, injustice, and tyranny.
4. The beginning of a new society based on justice, freedom, and loyalty.
