Mt. Sinai on the fiftieth day after crossing the Red Sea.
Fifty is a transcendent number, being one above forty nine (seven
x seven), fifty represents deity, whereas forty-nine represents humanity -
reflects transcendent deity.
Y’Shua condescended from His transcendent position of deity to
become a man. Therefore we humans at forty-nine need to transcend into godliness at fifty. By now we should have reached maturity and sold out to G-d one hundred percent.
NUN equals the value of fifty and stands for “faithfulness, soul and
emergence. The bent used at the beginning or in the midst, and the
straight used at the end. Rabbi Roshi wrote, “One who submits himself humbly to G-d’s will, bending before Him like the bent nun, will stand straight and upright like the final nun when he eventually faces the Day of Judgment.” Fifty represents the soul - or the candle - reminding us of Y’Shua as our Light.
