Witnessing

Spontaneity is an essential part of the meaning of the word "promise" when used of G-d, especially of "the promise" which compromises all the blessings of the Messianic Kingdom. G-d's every word of grace is promise. Even the commandments are assurances of Grace, conditional only upon man's willingness to obey.
Although we are by nature cursed of G-d, and a curse to others, He graciously saved us and poured out His blessings upon us, and now seeks to make us channels of blessings to others. "I am thy shield" (Gen 15:1). As our shield, He is ever near to protect us and to preserve our going out and coming in. If we deny ourselves for peace sake, the L-rd will be our up making portion.
Every divine promise is a check drawn upon G-d, but before we can cash one of these checks we must have it endorsed with the name of Y’Shua. We cannot cash any promise in our own name.
Read Numbers 30, Deuteronomy 23:21-23, and Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 if you are about to make a promise or a vow to G-d. G-d will expect you to uphold your word and require you to make good on it. There is a loophole for females - check it out. It is better not to promise at all than to promise and not fulfill. Most of man's promises are striking up a bargain with G-d. A mixture of spirituality and worldliness in the motive. Too much of the bargain-making spirit of the "if and then".
To our shame, we have to sadly confess that our pathway is strewn with broken vows and unrealized promises. Yet any promise the Spirit prompts, He can enable us to realize. Power is His to fulfill our holy promises, just as He fulfills His promises on our behalf.
On our own resolve, we dare not depend for our best resolves we only break. Whatever we are prompted to do for G-d, or to give Him can only be realized as we depend upon Him for all necessary pace to perform what we promise. "I can do all things through Messiah who strengthens me."
We should do as the angels, whom are G-d's elect messengers, or intermediaries. They are simply conveyors of the divine promises to the sons of men. Created by G-d, the angels exist to carry out G-d's will in the world and to assist His children in their pilgrim walk and witness. They are found making promises on their own initiative. The angels reflect the graciousness, sympathy and beneficence of their creators. Is G-d's representatives, the angels are able to impart unnerving instruction and knowledge.
Share the promise that the manifold angelic ministry continues even today. They are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. Hebrews 1:14, as in the L-rd, Y’Shua, we have one always near, although unseen, so in angels we have guardian attendants, though not perceived. (Matthew 18:10).
Doubt not, but good angels suggest counsels, tender holy motives, offer pious thoughts, and refresh the often parched spirits of gracious men with inward joy. Angels watch over us to keep us in all our ways.
An absolute promise is an unconditional promise; a conditional promise, meaning a promise that cannot be secured unless the specified condition is met. Absolute promises are those unconnected with the requirement of anything on the part of the promise, in order to their fulfillment. Such a promise is a naked agreement, something given or taken as equivalent to another.
The root meaning of the Greek term for "promise" is "to announce oneself," hence to signify to "offer one's services" and "to engage oneself voluntarily to render a service" and is associated in rabbinical usage with "assurance." In the gospels "promise" carries the thoughts of the assurance.
Although G-d's promises are divine in origin, they are unavailing unless we receive them by faith (Heb. 6:12). Then we need patience for some promises to be fulfilled. We must not lose heart if G-d seems slow to fulfill a promise we daily claim. In patience, we must possess our souls, for G-d is never late. Patient waiters are never disappointed because G-d's promises cannot fail of their accomplishment. (Heb. 6:15)
G-d may trip you by delaying to fulfill His promise; Satan may trip you by testing men by trying you by jealousy, distrust and opposition, your mate may try you by their peevishness. But you must patiently wait upon G-d's time, becoming a person of great faith. (Heb 6:16, 10:36)
Promises have immediate function and ultimate goals. The immediate purpose of the acquired promise is the meeting of our varied needs. The ultimate design of the promise is the separation of our lives from anything worthy of the Divine Promise. "Any given promise should make us more pure." (2 Cor. 7:1)
Promises, to be affective both materially and spiritually, must be possessed by faith - proven by obedience - presented in prayer.
